Hopes that the remains and setting of Colchester's internationally famous Roman Chariot Racing Circus will now get national recognition have been boosted as a result of Town MP Bob Russell raising the issue in the House of Commons.

Colchester MP Bob Russell has been elected to the Executive Committee of the UK Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the first Liberal Democrat to achieve this position. The election was made by MPs and Peers from all political parties.
