How Colchester voted in 2010

The General Election result in 2010 was a contest between Liberal Democrat Bob Russell and the Conservative candidate.  Labour came a poor third.  They've been in third place at General Elections in Colchester since the Colchester constituency was created in 1997.

It's the same story on Colchester Borough Council, where the Liberal Democrats have 24 seats to the Conservatives' 23, Labour's 9 and the independents' 4.

The message is clear: the Liberal Democrats are the main opposition to the Conservatives in Colchester.
